WHAT IS IT
The COPABASE cooperative of family farmers, located in the semi-arid region of Arinos/MG and dedicated to agroforestry production, previously bore the costs of disposing of baru bark in a landfill. Binatural identified the potential of this residue as a substitute for some of the firewood used in boilers. The project's potential not only meets energy demands sustainably but also drives social and environmental improvements in rural communities.
RESULTS AND OBJECTIVES
The project transforms a byproduct that was previously discarded into a useful source of energy, adding economic value and optimizing the use of available resources.
